IM CEMS MIM, IM Asia - China MIM, IM Asia - DD Bocconi-ESSEC and IM Concentration – DD ESSEC Luxury Management

Bocconi University offers three strongly international MSc programs:
 

  • IM CEMS MIM
  • IM Asia - China MIM
  • IM Asia - DD Bocconi-ESSEC
  • IM Concentration – DD ESSEC Luxury Management
     

Students interested in these programs should express their own preferences in the online application, during the application period dedicated to their target. 
 

Students must select each program of interest as a separate program choice when submitting the application for admission.

With an aim towards fostering greater diversity and inclusion in the classroom, students in IM CEMS MIM, IM Asia and IM Concentrations may attend first-year classes with students from other IM programs.

IM Asia — DD Bocconi-ESSEC and IM Concentration – DD ESSEC Luxury Management
 

  • All the candidates must be fluent in two foreign languages on top of their mother tongue/s.

    The knowledge of a second language (other than English/ mother tongue) will be not required as compulsory during the application period, but it will positively evaluated for selection purposes.

    For non- English natives, English must be the 1st foreign language, proved by one of the certificates (see the dedicated webpage for further details)

     
  • Applicants must have a valid passport starting from 1st May 2026 until 31 December 2029.
  • For non-English natives, admitted students must provide one of the English Language certificates that are accepted for MSc programs.
  • Students applying to this program must graduate by June 2026, if graduating at foreign universities; By July 2026, if graduating at Bocconi or at another Italian university 
     
  • All applicants (except for Bocconi applicants) must provide a GMAT 600 (or an official GRE equivalent to GMAT 600, with at least 150 in the quantitative and verbal sections) by 31 July 2026*
  • Candidates holding a French High School diploma or French Bachelor Degree or applicants who were rejected (or refused participation to) Graduate Programs offered by ESSEC are not eligible for double degree program at ESSEC.

 

 

* During the selection process, achieving a GMAT score of 600 is not compulsory (those who do will, however, be evaluated preferentially): Italian applicants can therefore apply for admission to the IM Asia — DD Bocconi-ESSEC program and/or IM Concentration – DD ESSEC Luxury Management using the Bocconi test, and international students can also submit a GMAT score below the minimum requirement of 600. In case of admission to the IM Asia DD Bocconi-ESSEC program / IM Concentration – DD ESSEC Luxury Management, however, the GMAT requirement of 600 must be met (or the GRE equivalent) by 31 July 2026. 

 

 

 

Admission to the IM CEMS MIM, IM Asia - China MIM, IM Asia - DD Bocconi-ESSEC, and IM Concentration – DD ESSEC Luxury Management is highly selective.

Students are selected for their outstanding profiles:

  • Empathy with different cultures, values, and behaviors;
  • Willingness to take responsibility within society;

The key selection criteria will be assessed through written and/or online application documents and through a video interview. 

In addition to the elements of evaluation valid for all the MSc programs, the Admission Committee needs to evaluate the intellectual potential & knowledge of applicants, together with their international orientation and motivation for the programs.
 

A recorded video interview is mandatory for all applicants. The video interview will be available directly on the Apply2B portal and is fully integrated into the application process. Each candidate will have two minutes to answer three questions.

The interview allows the Admissions Committee to assess candidates’ communication skills, critical thinking, and interpersonal competencies.

The questions vary depending on the program selected. Below are the questions for the Special Programs:

IM China, IM Asia - DD Bocconi-ESSEC, and IM Concentration – DD ESSEC Luxury Management

  1. What strategies do you plan to use to balance the academic and social challenges that come with studying in different educational systems and cultures?
  2. How do you plan to leverage the unique opportunities offered by studying in different countries to achieve your academic and career goals?
  3. If you had to choose just one value that is important to you, what would it be? Can you describe a situation in which you put it into practice, or a situation in which you discovered its importance?

IM CEMS MIM

  1. Describe a professional achievement where you maintained strong ethical standards. How did you balance success with integrity?
  2. Share a cross-cultural experience that taught you about understanding and respect across differences.
  3. Discuss a time when you took the initiative to address a social change, either in your personal or professional life.

 

Admitted students have nearly two weeks in order to confirm the place offered and to pay:

  • the first installment advance payment (equal for the 2026-27 to €3640 - TBC)
  • For admitted candidates, the administrative contribution to confirm enrollment (first installment – advance payment) is €2000. Only for the IM CEMS MIM program, the required amount is €2,500. The payment must be made via the Bocconi Store.
