Business Schools Meet at SDA
Over 300 business school Deans and Directors from all over the world will meet at SDA Bocconi Thursday and Friday 29-30 January for the meeting of the EFMD, the European Foundation for Management Development. EFMD is the most important European association of management education whose duties include the management of the EQUIS accreditation system.
During the two-day convention, entitled "Competing through Knowledge," participants will discuss current themes regarding business education, management and accreditation. Among the schools present at the meeting will be the London Business School, University of Florida, ESADE (Spain), Université Paris-Dauphine, Tongji University (China), University of Queensland (Australia) and Korea University Business School.
"The EFMD plays an important role in promoting exchange and comparison of information between schools and the development of managerial skills. And this is a great opportunity for debate and exchange on the role of managerial education in the current economic situation," explains Alberto Grando, director of SDA Bocconi. Grando has been on the EFMD board since last year. "Investing in intellectual capital, in fact, is a key strategic incentive to increase competitiveness and to be prepared to manage current change as well as to speed up recovery."
