MUDEC - via Tortona 56, Milan

Program

We are delighted to offer you a guided tour of Matisse: The World in a Room at MUDEC, led by the museum's licensed guides.

The exhibition explores the work of Henri Matisse, one of the leading figures of modern art, through a new perspective on the cultural influences that shaped his artistic vision.

Bringing together around 100 works from major international museums and collections, the exhibition examines his dialogue with artistic traditions from Africa, the Islamic world, Russia, the Pacific, and China, revealing how these encounters contributed to the development of his distinctive visual language.

During the guided tour, we will discover paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, textiles, and decorative objects that reveal the richness of Matisse's creative approach and explore the cultural exchanges that inspired some of the most innovative works of modern art.
