A journey through the history of an avant-garde magazine, among advertising, rationalization and business culture

Bocconi Library & Archives is pleased to announce that the new virtual exhibition path dedicated to L'Ufficio Moderno, the magazine that marked an epoch in the Italian publishing and cultural landscape, is now available online. Through archive materials and historical images, the exhibition traces the entire parabola of the magazine: from its birth to its advertising campaigns - including the innovative collective initiative to promote Italian beer - to the meetings of the Gruppo Amici della Razionalizzazione in the 1930s.

The exhibition also takes an in-depth look at the editorial activity of L'Ufficio Moderno in the 1950s and 1960s, with particular attention to the National Advertising Award and the many cultural and entrepreneurial initiatives that made it a point of reference for the world of work, communication and business organisation.

The exhibition concludes with the decline and subsequent closure of the title, offering a critical look at the transformation of the role of specialist publishing after World War II.
