Preferential rate a.y. 2027-28

The content provided here should therefore not be considered final. Further information will be available between December 2026 and January 2027.

On this webpage you will find information regarding preferential rate housing assignments in one of the Bocconi residence halls. 


The residences offer well-maintained spaces, practical services, and an international community. They are all located in the city center, within a maximum walking distance of 10–15 minutes from the classrooms where lectures take place. All our residences offer single bedrooms, with either a private bathroom or one shared with at most one other student, and access to a shared kitchen.

Rooms here offered are at Preferential rate. The preferential rate for the accommodation service can only be applied to students who are in need but deserving and who meet the requirements (in terms of merit and income) for the ISU Bocconi Scholarship for the Right to University Education. For the preferential rate, 3 different fee levels based on the ISU brackets (1st, 2nd and 3rd ISU bracket) are foreseen, depending on the values indicated on the ISEE/ISEEU Parificato Certificate submitted at the moment of the application. For all other students the full rate is applied.

Housing assignments will be valid from the end of August 2027 to the end of June 2028 (10 months). The assignment period is designed to meet the academic needs of most students; however, resident students may also separately request accommodation for the month of July (see the dedicated page).

Please note that, at the end of the assignment period, rooms must be completely vacated, as they will be made available to other students participating in the Bocconi Summer School or in other initiatives.

The housing assignment for A.Y. 2027-28 is granted for the academic year of application only, therefore, it is not automatically renewed for subsequent academic years, but it is the student's responsibility to check whether it can be renewed and to make subsequent applications for assignment in the ways that will be provided by the Housing Application Requirements and Regulations for each academic year of interest. 

Throughout the period in which the student is a resident in a Bocconi residence hall, room changes are not permitted. Instead, it is the right of Bocconi University to transfer the student, even during the year, to another residence hall at the rate provided for the new residence.

HOUSING APPLICATION ONLINE 2027-28

Students with disabilities

Bocconi University has accommodations in each residence hall that are designed to accommodate students with disabilities in order to offer them the possibility to easily live their university experience in a collective context that meets their needs. Students with disabilities who require special housing needs may contact the Office of Fees, Funding and Housing, which will evaluate, with each student, which housing is best suited to their specific needs. All reported issues and provided documentation will be treated confidentially and subject to applicable privacy regulations. In order for the Office to be able to satisfy the requests received, it is best to clarify your needs in advance. Interested students are advised to contact the Fees, Funding and Housing Office before submitting their housing application.

1. Preferential rate renewal application

This opportunity is reserved for students that already have an housing assignment at preferential rate at Bocconi residence halls for the a.y. 2026-27 and wish to confirm it for the a.y. 2027-28

The application will be available from 9 to 19 February 2027. Only for students who are already guests at preferential rate as of 9 February 2027. 

The link to the application will be published on the dedicated web page "Housing application online 2027-28" accessible from the blue box at the beginning of this webpage. 

The result will be made available within late March 2027 on MyApplication. For the renewal application, no subsequent steps of acceptance are required, the room is assigned. 

A preferential rate renewal application may be submitted only by students who:

  • Meet the economic requirements established by the Lombardy Region for the access to the benefits of the Right to University Education for the a.y. 2027-28 and the necessary documentation: please refer to the dedicated page for all information. For the purpose of ascertaining the economic conditions and the truthfulness of the information provided, Bocconi University will make use of the faculties provided for by the current provisions of the law. Information on ascertaining the economic conditions and veracity of the statements provided is available at the following link.

  • are non-residents, meaning living in a municipality from which it is possible to reach the location of the study course attended by public transportation, with travel times exceeding 90 minutes(*)

    The only exception are students interested in applying during the “Open reservation – recovery session”, for whom this requirement does not have to be strictly fulfilled;

  • do not fall under any of the grounds for exclusion.

  • in possession of the minimum number of credits required to submit the application, detailed in the following point 2 "Credits required to submit the application"

  • will enroll for a.y. 2027-28:

  • for Bachelor programs: to the first, second, third or first "fuori corso" year of the third year

  • for the Integrated Master of Arts in Law: to the first, second, third, fourth, fifth or first "fuori corso" year of the fifth year

  • for Master of Science programs: to the first, second, or first "fuori corso" year of the second year

  • not already assignees of housing upon payment, or free of charge, or at a reduced rate for the academic year 2027-28. In fact, students who have already been assigned housing and submit or have submitted other housing requests of any type for the same academic year may only benefit from the first housing assignment they accepted. Therefore, housing requests submitted by students who have already been assigned accommodation for the same academic year will be canceled.

Students who are recipient of financial aid that includes free accommodation (e.g., Una Scelta Possibile) or accommodation at reduced rate (e.g., Moving to Milan), upon acceptance of the benefit, renounce the possibility of receiving any another type of housing assignment (preferential rate, full rate) for the academic year of the first assignment and subsequent years (if the financial aid is renewed). Acceptance will result in the automatic cancellation of any housing request submitted and/or of any housing assignment received. It is also specified that after acceptance, no further housing requests of any type can be submitted.

The number of rooms available at preferential rate is usually lower than the applications submitted. Regularly enrolled students will be considered as a priority: applications submitted by students transferring from other Universities or repeating any year of course will not be accepted. Detailed rules on verifications carried out on years of enrollment are available in the Housing Application Requirements and Regulations a.y. 2027-28.

It is also specified, exclusively for students enrolled to the first year of a Bachelor, Integrated Master of Arts in Law or Master of Science program for a.y. 2027-28 , that they can apply for Preferential rate new admission application only after having submitted the “ISU Bocconi Scholarship a.y. 2027-28” application. 

(*) The travel times to be calculated are the minimum times required, based on the public transport route, between the departure station/stop from the place of residence and the arrival station/stop at the study location, including waiting times at intermediate stops. Walking routes or private transportation are excluded. These times can be verified on the regional website www.muoversi.regione.lombardia.it and, for cities outside the Lombardy Region, through the Google Maps search engine at www.google.it/maps

Renewal applications will evaluated only if submitted by students who have earned the number of credits specified below no later than: 2 February, 2027 (tbc) for Bachelor and Master of Science programs, and by 7 April, 2027 (tbc) for Integrated Master of Arts in Law program.

It is specified that:

>First year students for a.y. 2027-28 of the Bachelor or Integrated Master of Arts in Law programs are not required to reach this minimum number of credits if they wish to apply for the "Preferential rate new admission application"

>A minimum number of credits is not required to students who wish to apply for the "Open reservation - recovery session" application.

Minimum number of credits required

11 credits for those enrolled in the first year (bachelor, master of science and integrated master of arts in law programs) in a.y. 2026-27

60 credits for those enrolled in the second year (bachelor, master of science or integrated master of arts in law programs) in a.y. 2026-27

120 credits for those enrolled in a.y. 2026-27 in the third year or first year “fuori corso” of a bachelor program who will enroll for a.y. 2027-28 in the first year of a master of science program at Bocconi, or those enrolled in a.y. 2026-27 in the third year of integrated master of arts in law programs 

180 credits for those enrolled in the fourth year of an integrated master of arts in law program in a.y. 2026-27

240 credits for those enrolled in the fifth year of an integrated master of arts in law program in a.y. 2026-27
 

It is specified that for the achievement of the minimum number of credits required at the end of the winter session there is NO use of bonus credits in addition to the credits actually earned by the student.

For students who have participated in an Exchange program during the first semester, the timing of recognition of exams taken abroad will be considered. Such students are invited to still apply for housing renewal if interested and to monitor the credit recognition in order to complete it as soon as possible. Please note that no flexibility can be applied in relation to the achievement of the merit requirement for accommodation - credits to be achieved by August 10, 2027. (please see paragraph 5)

It is also specified that for students with disability pursuant to Italian Law n.104/1992 or with civil disability equal or greater than 66%, the number of minimum credits may deviate up to a maximum of 40% from the number of credits indicated above.

Students who will result housing assignees for a.y. 2027-28 following the procedure described above will be able to use the assigned accommodation only in presence of the following conditions:

1) REGULAR ENROLLMENT for a.y. 2027-28
> regular enrollment for the absolute first time for a.y. 2027-28 in the first regular year of a Master of Science (i.e. bachelor Bocconi students going to the Master of Science program)

or

> regular enrollment for a.y. 2027-28 for the absolute first time in a regular year subsequent to the first of a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Integrated Master of arts in Law or PhD program. Also students enrolled in the 1st year “fuori corso” of a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Integrated Master of Arts in Law program will be able to reside in the Bocconi residence halls.

It is specified that the years of enrollment are counted for each study cycle starting from the absolute first year of enrollment*.

It is specified that for students with a disability pursuant to Italian Law n.104/1992 or with civil disability equal or greater than 66% can reside in the Bocconi Residence Halls at a preferential rate also if enrolled for a.y. 2027-28 in the 2nd year “fuori corso” year of a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Integrated Master of Arts in Law program.

*The absolute first year of enrollment shall be understood as any academic year of first enrollment in any kind of degree program (even if different from the one attended in the a.y. 2027-28) which required the same education qualification as the one needed to access the attended program in the a.y. 2027-28, in any University in Italy or abroad, even if the program has not been completed.

2) MERIT REQUIREMENT

For the purpose of eligibility to use the accommodation, the rules established in terms of merit requirements and detailed on the dedicated webpage for the different types of housing applications apply.

 

Cancellation in case of lack of the requirements

Students assigned housing for whom it is subsequently determined that they did not regularly enroll for the a.y. 2027-28 or did not meet the merit requirements will lose their right (eligibility) to use the Housing Service for the a.y. 2027-28. The assignment will be cancelled by the office and students will be required to leave the assigned accommodation immediately. It is specified that the payments due will remain the responsibility of the student even in the event of cancellation of the assignment. For this reason, before submitting a housing application, students are invited to pay particular attention to the provisions regarding the cancellation of the housing assignment, specified on the dedicated webpage.

Important note

Please consider that the calculation of the housing installment is carried out at the beginning of July for all housing assignees, regardless of their situation in terms of reaching the merit and the enrollment requirement that the office cannot verify before August 10. The possibility of seeing the due payment on you@B does not entail an unconditional room assignment, which is always subject to the possession of the enrollment and merit requirements. In absence of the requirements needed to use the assigned room, the office will proceed with the cancellation of your housing assignment, but you will still be required to pay the first installment (it will not be possible to cancel the due amount).

In the event you will pay the amount due but after a subsequent verification the merit and enrollment requirement will not be met, the amount you paid will not be refunded and the housing assignment will be cancelled in any case. 

Please remember that the University grants the right to leave the accommodation early and to withdraw from the commitment to such payment, exclusively in the foreseen cases of renunciation of the accommodation, proven by the specific academic reasons required for the acceptance of the renunciation request, and withdrawal from the accommodation, according to what detailed on the dedicated website pages.

Students enrolled in the first year of a Bachelor, Integrated Master of Arts in Law or Master of Science program for a.y. 2027-28 can apply for Preferential rate new admission application only after having submitted the “ISU Bocconi Scholarship a.y. 2027-28” application. 

Application will be available from 9 to 19 February 2027.

The result will be made available within late March 2027 on MyApplication. 
If the result is positive, you will receive a preferential rate housing assignment for A.Y. 2027-28. On the result, you will be notified the residence assigned, the room type, the period of assignment and the applicable Bocconi ISU bracket, which may change following the Lombardy Region's resolution on the final ISEEU/ISPEU parameters. The assignment offer received cannot be changed and no room changes are expected.
If you wish to accept the offer of accommodation received, proceed to pay the security deposit of 600 euros and upload all the required documents by the date that will be indicated in the result. If you fail to complete all the steps required to accept the housing assignment received by that deadline, your assignment will automatically be cancelled.

Students assigned housing for whom it is subsequently determined that they did not regularly enroll for the a.y. 2027-28 or did not meet the merit requirements will lose their right (eligibility) to use the Housing Service for the a.y. 2027-28. The assignment will be cancelled by the office and students will be required to leave the assigned accommodation immediately. 3. Open reservation recovery session

In order to satisfy all the need of students of the Right to University, according to the housing application timeline for a.y. 2027-28, a new "recovery" session of Open reservation has been introduced. This session will allow students who will result eligible for the ISU Bocconi Scholarship a.y. 2027-28 during the autumn 2027 to request the housing rate change with respect to the rate already applied for a.y. 2027-28 (if already assignees of a room at full rate) or to request a housing new admission at preferential rate for a.y. 2027-28 (if not yet assignees of a room).

Application in November 2027.
The link to the application will be published on the dedicated web page "Housing application online 2027-28" accessible from the blue box at the beginning of this webpage. 

Students will be entitled to participate to the Open reservation — recovery session (preferential rate) only if they will result eligible for the ISU Bocconi Scholarship a.y. 2027-28 and if they are not already assignees of a room at preferential rate during the same academic year.

The rate change request may be submitted only by students who:

  • are assignees of a room at full rate for a.y. 2027-28 (in any previous assignment session). The rate change may be applied only if the room occupied by the student for a.y. 2027-28 is one of the room types available also at preferential rate.
  • resulted eligible for the ISU Bocconi Scholarship a.y. 2027-28.

In case the request will be accepted, the preferential rate will be applied starting from the second housing installment and there will be no adjustment of the first housing installment already paid. The rate change will be subject to availability of rooms that can be assigned at preferential rate possibly left after all the previous preferential rate applications, or after the "Renunciation/ Withdrawal" period, and always up to the number of rooms defined in the Housing Application Requirements and Regulations a.y. 2027-28.


The new admission request (valid from January 2028) can be submitted only by students who:

  • are NOT assignees of a room in any of the Bocconi residence halls or partner facilities for a.y. 2027-28
  • resulted eligible for the ISU Bocconi Scholarship a.y. 2027-28 

In the event that the number of applicants will exceed the number of rooms available, the room assignments will happen by giving priority to:

  • non resident students
  • 1st year students
  • increasing amount of the ISEE/ISEEU parameter

The housing assignment, valid from January 2028, will be subject to availability of rooms that can be assigned at preferential rate and up to the number of rooms defined in the Housing Application Requirements and Regulations a.y. 2027-28. For these room assignments, all the preferential rate rooms possibly left after all the previous preferential rate applications (included the rate change requests) or after the "Renunciation/ Withdrawal" period, will be used.

The result will be made available in the month of November 2027 on MyApplication.

Rate change
If the result is positive, you will receive a preferential rate housing assignment for A.Y. 2027-28. On the result, you will be notified the residence assigned, the room type, the period of assignment and the applicable Bocconi ISU bracket. No subsequent steps of acceptance are required.

In the event of a request of housing rate change with a negative result due to non-availability of assignable housing at preferential rate (as specified above), the student may apply for withdrawal by and no later than November 2027. 

New admission
If the result is positive, you will receive a preferential rate housing assignment for A.Y. 2027-28. On the result, you will be notified the residence assigned, the room type, the period of assignment and the applicable Bocconi ISU bracket. The assignment offer received cannot be changed and no room changes are expected.

If you wish to accept the offer of accommodation received, proceed to pay the security deposit of 600 euros and upload all the required documents by the date that will be indicated in the result.
If you fail to complete all the steps required to accept the housing assignment received by that deadline, your assignment will automatically be cancelled.

In the event of a preferential rate new admission housing application (recovery session) with a negative result due to non-availability of assignable housing at preferential rate, the student may apply for the Open reservation at full rate (during the first session in December 2027).
