Visa Process for exchange students
All non-EU exchange students must apply for a Student Visa before coming to Italy.
To learn more about visa application deadlines and requirements, visit http://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/home/en. A guided procedure will help you find out whether you need to apply for a visa and where - based on your nationality, country of residence, reasons for visit and length of stay. Depending on your situation, you may be required to apply for a visa in your home country, in your country of residence or in the country where you are currently studying.
Visa requirements may vary. The official Acceptance Letter, issued by Bocconi University, is always required.
Application Process
Students must complete a 2-step process:
- Pre-register and submit the application on the Universitaly portal (mandatory) at https://www.universitaly.it/ as soon as possible. Please note: this application is different and separate from the Bocconi Exchange Program online application.
-
Apply for a Study Visa: procedures may vary from Consulate to Consulate. Students should follow the instructions provided on the website of the Consulate where they plan to apply. We recommend that students review visa procedures and start searching for a visa appointment well in advance.
Please note that, according to the Italian Authorities and ministries, acceptance into the exchange program does not guarantee the issuance of a visa. The decision is made solely by the relevant diplomatic mission, Consulate or Embassy.
Pre-register on the Universitaly portal at https://www.universitaly.it/
To register, click on "First steps in Italy" box in the homepage and follow the registration guide. After that click on “Pre-enroll now" that will appear in your personal area.
