Dedicated to Freshmen

Olympic Village and other opportunities

Kirsty Coventry - Chair of the International Olympic Committee
The spirit of the Olympic Games is about much more than just sport. I see this spirit most clearly at the Olympic Games, where athletes from every corner of our world compete with passion: yet they respect, support, and inspire one another.

In 2026, Bocconi University proudly takes up the legacy of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games by transforming the Olympic Village into a new home for its students.

Through this project, the campus expands and integrates even further with the city of Milan, and it’s ready to welcome hundreds of new students. The new rooms available at the Olympic Village will be specifically reserved for freshmen starting their journey at Bocconi in the 2026-27 academic year. This offer adds to the roughly 2,000 rooms already available in Bocconi Residences, further strengthening the housing experience provided by the University.

The Village was designed to leave a lasting legacy for both the city and the students beyond the Olympic event, becoming a new hub for university life in a prestigious Milanese neighborhood. Those who live there will become part of an already vibrant and international area, fueled by the presence of approximately 900 students hosted in the Isonzo, Dubini, and Spadolini Residences.

The architectural project, centered on the quality of student life, was developed to foster interaction, sharing, and a sense of community. The values expressed by athletes during the Olympic Games - commitment, respect, and dedication - find continuity in this symbolic location. It is destined to become the backdrop for a dynamic and inclusive international community, united by the same determination in both academic and personal pursuits.

The complex comprises six residential buildings and two pre-existing historic buildings, restored and enhanced to house functional and easily accessible services, including dining facilities, gyms, and shops. The project is completed by public spaces open to the inhabitants of the city and extensive green areas, designed to encourage integration with the neighborhood and social interaction.

Freshmen: First Steps into the University World

The agreement for the Olympic Village and the expansion of available rooms stems from a clear goal for Bocconi University: to make the relocation to Milan easier and worries-free for students and their families.

Searching for housing from a distance, handling contractual and administrative aspects, and organizing the relocation itself: relocation is often one of the most complex steps that students have to face before starting classes, especially considering their diverse backgrounds.

Arriving in the city can also create further challenges: the impact of a large metropolis and a completely new academic environment requires time, adaptation, and solid points of reference.

For this reason, Bocconi University will welcome hundreds of freshmen at the Olympic Village, offering a safe, organized environment designed to encourage social interaction and fully integrated into academic life.

Freshmen will have access to their rooms from the time of arrival (late August 2026) until the end of the first academic year (July 2027). This provides an entire year to settle in gradually, build relationships, get to know the city, and take the time to find the permanent housing solution that best suits their needs.

This housing application opportunity adds to the others foreseen for a.a. 2026-27:

Requirements

The allocation of these accommodations will be reserved for first-year students (freshmen) enrolled in the first year of their degree programs (bachelor’s, law, and master’s) for the 2026–27 academic year.

If sufficient availability remains after the allocations dedicated to freshmen, students enrolling in a year subsequent to the first for the 2026–27 academic year will also have the opportunity to book accommodation in the Olympic Village. All updates will be published on this webpage.

Room Type

  • Single room with private bathroom: € 986/month

The fee includes all services (utilities, internet, weekly cleaning with linen change, access to study/activity/relaxation areas, and 24-hour concierge service). At the time of the online application, students are required to pay a security deposit equal to two (2) months’ rent.

Payment of the rent is requested by the management in three installments, covering the following periods: September/November – December/March – April/July.

Assigment period

The assignment will be valid from August 24, 2026 to July 23, 2027 (11 months). At present, automatic renewal of accommodation at the Olympic Village beyond the first year is not foreseen.

Students who have stayed in the Village during their first academic year will be granted priority access for the allocation of available places in other Bocconi Residences for their second academic year (with applications to be submitted approximately in March 2027).
