Economics and Management of Innovation and Technology

Program Director Claudio Panico

Innovation is the engine of growth and a priority for governments, top companies, and newly established firms. Innovation and technological evolution shape competitive forces and change industries, affect our lives and modify societal structures.

Would you like to recognize the forces driving these changes? Learn how to make good strategic choices for creating and executing innovation? Study how to turn your ideas into market applications? Understand how digital platforms, algorithms and artificial intelligence are changing the world?

This Master of Science will allow you to build a foundational understanding of the process of innovation from a micro and macro perspective, providing you with analytical skills, decision-making abilities and a problem-solving attitude. You will be involved in a challenging interdisciplinary program with courses that blend strategic, managerial, organizational and economic approaches to offer insights in the process of innovation and technological change.

Learning is facilitated by lectures, real-world case studies, peer-to-peer collaboration, interaction with top scholars and speakers from the business community, thematic workshops and direct involvement in research projects. Your academic experience will be enriched by the diversity of students and faculty with different nationalities, cultures, and educational backgrounds.

Graduates of the program are prepared to cover roles related to the analysis and management of innovation in consulting companies, international organizations and regulatory authorities, and to hold managerial positions in innovation-focused business organizations. In addition, some of our graduates choose to launch their own startup or undertake a PhD program.

Student Life Campus Living in Milano Our Community

Bocconi is about more than just classes

Your years on campus are about more than just the classes you attend: Bocconi and Milan also promote activities focused on culture, sports, art and sharing ideas. They help make your Bocconi experience an exciting time that is key to personal and professional growth.

A growing campus

Our campus is a safe, multicultural and lively place, located in downtown Milan. Both its historic buildings and new spaces are integrated into the urban fabric to create an active environment, reverberating with university life. Starting in 2019, the campus will expand to include a recreational sports center, a large park and a new student residence hall.

A European and cosmopolitan city

Milan is an open, international and multicultural city, a European metropolis full of events and public services with an unparalleled nightlife. It is a renowned symbol of fashion and design, as well as an important financial, economic and business hub.

Once a Bocconian, always a Bocconian!

You become a member of the Bocconi community when you start your program, joining other students, faculty, staff and Alumni. But Bocconi is not only a real community where you spend your days on campus, but also – and increasingly more so – a community you can get to know through our online social networks.
