International Scientific Workshop

The Impact of Statistical Thinking in Economics and Life Sciences
13-15 september 2012
room N03, piazza Sraffa 13

The workshop aims at gathering researchers in Statistics and related fields, to discuss the impact that statistical thinking had and continues to have in many disciplines, from economics to applied mathematics and life sciences. Recent advances in Statistics and other disciplines will be presented by internationally renowned scholars and young researchers.

With this international scientific workshop, we will celebrate the 65th birthday of Professor Pietro Muliere. With his work in statistics, probability, stochastic processes, inequalities, income distribution, stochastic orderings, decision theory, and applications in economics, social sciences, survival analysis, clinical trials;  and with his research collaborations with more than 30 coauthors from all over the world, and with many graduate students, Pietro beautifully shows that Statistical Thinking is crucial in many aspects of life.
