Legalization of documents
Legalization of documents can be requested at the Italian Embassy of the country in which it was issued.
For countries that have signed the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961, the legalization procedure can take place alternatively by having it stamped with the Apostille by the proper authority of the Country that issued the document.
Provided that the translation is official, legalization is not necessary for documents issued by countries signatory to the Brussels Convention of 25 May 1987, nor for documents issued by the Embassies and/or Consulates of signatories of the London European Convention of 7 June 1968, nor for countries signatory to treaties with Italian government.
