CAREFIN, Centre for Applied Research in Finance, is a research structure created by Università Bocconi, Italy's leading business and economics school.
Located on-campus in Milan, CAREFIN encompasses and enhances the activities of three former Bocconi research bodies, NEWFIN, CERAP and Pension Forum.
It has a strong commitment to delivering rigorous material that is both well-grounded in financial research and highly geared towards real-life applications. Leveraging ongoing dialogue with the financial industry, professional associations, regulators and policy makers, the Centre uses advanced analytical tools to investigate the opportunities and threats posed by new financial products, markets and brokerage models.
CAREFIN's main areas of activity include banking, insurance, investment management, risk management, pension funds, the operation of financial markets and other related topics. Its approach to applied research lays a strong emphasis on teamwork among researchers, interaction with leading-edge financial institutions and international networking with other research centres.
CAREFIN's young, European-minded, motivated Faculty provides its Sponsors and the financial community at large with research papers, books, conferences and roundtables where emerging issues are defined, explored, assessed in their implications for the profitability of intermediaries and markets, the stability of the financial system, and the welfare of financial service consumers.
Whether you are a scholar, a financial institution, a policy maker, a finance professional or a regulator, we would like you to join CAREFIN in this quest for talent, dialogue and vision. To let innovative financial players drive our research endeavours, to help research drive financial innovation.
